1-2007 – 8-2008 Exit41

Telecoms Engineer

Started out as Tier 1 Support, within 2 months moved into Tier 2 Support. Handled all calls coming into the call center. Issues included PC hardware, Microsoft registry issues, network connectivity, ISP problems, as well as problems with Exit41’s proprietary VOIP hardware and software. Performed 3rd party software and hardware compatibility testing and integrations. I saw the need to have an expert on the Televantage PBX in support, so I pursued technical leadership on our PBX. Within one month of taking on this responsibility I reduced escalations to engineering by 75%. I was asked to setup a 60 seat call center for Exit41 to launch Qdoba's online ordering pilot with two weeks’ notice. This was accomplished on time and to the satisfaction of the new customer. Within 6 weeks of the pilot roll out, Swiss Chalet, Market, Dennys, Ruby Tuesday and la Madeleine had all signed contracts based on proposals I had written. Following the signing I took the position of PM and Lead Engineer for these new clients. Pursued root cause problem analysis on long standing issues. During layoffs I took over the responsibilities of the IT department, other senior support engineer roles for our existing products, and local and off site call centers.

Responsibilities:

Handled all incoming phone calls to support and telecoms.

Escalated issues to engineering as needed

Primary contact for Support on all PBX issues. Reduced dependency on Engineering by 75%
