Redesign of a storage and distribution center using good material handling practices. Project involved analysis and design of material flow throughout the facility, selection of equipment, detailed description of operations, and justification for all recommendations.
Wireless Assistive Control Device
My senior design project involving the collection of electrical signals from the muscles of the human body and using them to control a toy. This type of technology will soon be using to make prosthetics which can be control by the mind and body directly.

Quality Control Manager; July 2009 to Present
Developed Quality program from scratch. Instituted 100% inspection of all final products. Outlined quality standards for all aspects including fabrication, powder coating, final assembly, and packaging/shipping. Developed tracking metrics for both external customer complaints and internal press room activity including costs. Began "culture change" process by tying cost of quality metrics into departmental bonus structures. Run regular audits of product and processes. Improved lean techniques and flow throughout multiple areas of the shop, including Kanbans when appropriate. Worked with product engineers to improve quality and manufacturability of troublesome or new products. Indirect supervisor to three inspectors.

Quality Assurance Co-op, 6 Month total
Inspector of all incoming ASME/ASTM code materials, handling of Mill Test Reports and reject reports, recorded and maintained material trace logs for customers. Applied SPC Control Charts to evaluate polishing of aluminum plate, proving a two hour reduction didn’t risk failing customer specs for surface finish. Conducted time studies and taught 5S princples.

Lean Systems Co-op, 9 Months total
Participated in numerous Kaizen events, Worked with operators and Ops Leaders, conducted time studies.
Critical staff member of the facility layout project in which the entire plant was laid out with continuous flow in mind using value stream mapping. Performed 5S tasks, created TPM documents, and Standard Work instructions. Also assisted in re-work control and development of a new inventory control system.
