Sr. Operations Manager
Jefferson Industries Corporation, West Jefferson Ohio 3/08- present
Jefferson Industries is the largest tier one supplier to Honda in North America, providing stampings and welded sub assemblies to all North American plants. JIC had experienced a large period of growth and I was hired to re-organize and restore JIC to its former class one supplier status to Honda.
Responsibilities include, Stamping production, Die Maintenance, Press Maintenance, Production Control, New Model, Direct all Plant Quality and Index Management.
In my time at JIC, I have re-organized and rebuilt the foundation and structure of the production and support groups, re-established clear roles and responsibilities to achieve long lasting functional changes to the organization to consistently achieve goals. We have achieved a 66% reduction is quality concerns with our customer, exceeded SQCD goals, increased OEE to achieve zero overtime in weld and minimum over time in stamping while making room for several hundreds of thousands of strokes of in sourced work. Additionally we have reduced the need for days on hand raw material through tighter management or Production Control and reduced WIP.

In addition to the introduction of several new presses and millions of units of additional volume, we also have improved efficiencies of existing machines by twenty percent, decreasing the cost of the existing business.
As a staff member I report directly to the plant manager. My business unit maintains nearly 150 associates. Direct reports to myself included production, quality, tool engineering, manufacturing engineering, tool repair, automations, scheduling and logistics.

I was invited to join Tooling Systems Group as the owner had purchased an empty facility with in which his plan was to begin his seventh tool shop. TSG-C was to be purely in the business of manufacturing die sets and die set components.
As Project manager I designed the shop floor lay out to maximize throughput and efficiency, established the plants supplier base, negotiated pricing and delivery standards, established and developed cost estimating standards to ensure marketability while maintaining a healthy business profit margin, as well as managed logistics and performed in the sales function as well.
