Projects on Research and Development

Silicone/SBR elastomer compounding as thermal interface materials, inner tires and sealants application (BUCT) Nov. 2004- Jun. 2008

• Assisted supervisor to design the experiment.

• Manipulated the two-roll mill and compression molding to fabricate the silicone elastomer composites.

• Manipulated the characterization tools such as SEM/EDS, FTIR, DMA, TMA, DSC, RPA, and XRD to evaluate the morphology and structure of rubber products.

• Analyzed the results and optimized the formulation and manufacturing process.

• Wrote the technical reports and presented commendations to the supervisor and other teammates.

Advanced composites possessed low weight and superior mechanical properties and their application in low-weight vehicle, sports utilities, and aeronautics and space field. (SDSM&T) Aug.2008- Aug. 2012

• Initiated a specific direction of the project, determined the raw materials, and designed the experimental.

• Surface treatment of nanofillers and produce Nano-Resin using linker molecules.

• Prepared the multi-scale reinforcements through electrophoretic deposition (EPD) process, electrospinning technique, and spray up process.

• Operated the manufacturing process (VARTM, extrusion, and injection techniques) to fabricate high-performance composites, and tested the mechanical properties.
