Systems & Applications Programmer/Consultant – Wrote source code recovery utility to retrieve “lost” DDS source members. Redesigned and rewrote system for monitoring and uploading data from numerous remote sites. The redesigned application reduced CPU usage from 30% to less than 1%, eliminated the requirement for a special recovery process (in case of system or application failure) which previously took 2-3 hours to complete on a dedicated system, automatically detected application failure and performed automatic restart of the application. Created facility which allowed remote sites to be added, changed and deleted with a simple database maintenance program, and allowed system operators to monitor and control the application interactively.
