PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE

PROGRAM MANAGER Eaton Aerospace, Warwick, RI 2011 – Present

Responsible for the successful execution of the New Product Development (NPD) Program(s) and projects and budget allocation. Leads the Integrated Product Team(s) to drive customer satisfaction, continuous improvement and life of the program financial performance by managing customer programs, contracts, and business relationships.

• Manages the Profit and Loss of the NPD Program(s) and projects. Responsibility, Authority and Accountability for every project scope delivery and successful execution within technical, schedule, cost, and quality commitments.

• Executes IPT leadership across the Program. Seeks team input to promote rapid resolution to issues. Coaches and provides feedback/rewards on performance indicators.

• Supervises the Project Managers assigned to the Program. Establishes objectives and goals and provides direction to the program and project teams in areas of customer concerns, potential changes in scope and risk assessment. Facilitates the implementation of program management processes at the site, business unit or Division.

• Manages effective customer communications. Improves organization responsiveness to customer requirements. Communicates and manages customer expectations and contractual commitments internal to the business.

• Ensures standard program management processes are utilized and adequate support to the program and project teams by coordinating PM reviews, preparing & publishing PM metrics and reports.

• Maintains metrics for program for earned value (CPI/SPI), quality, technical performance and delivery through all of the project phases.

• Manages customer contract, pricing, terms and conditions and contractual flow-down through the organization. SRBE Staff Engineer IV United Space Alliance, Kennedy Space Center, FL 2000 – 2010

Senior staff engineer in the Space Shuttle Program Launch and Recovery Systems Division as a member of the Solid Rocket Booster (SRB) Disassembly/Refurbishment Engineering Group and the Pyrotechnic Systems Engineering Group within United Space Alliance (USA), Inc., NASA Space Shuttle Program prime contractor. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

• Provided expert engineering and technical support for Space Shuttle pyrotechnic ordnance device testing, installation, and post-flight removal.

• Provided expert engineering and technical support to disassemble and refurbish Space Shuttle solid rocket booster (SRB) major flight structures and component hardware and mobile launch platform (MLP) hardware components following each Space Shuttle launch to prepare for future flight.

• Provided engineering and technical support for Ares I-X test rocket processing as part of the NASA Constellation Program. This included the designing and engineering of Ares I-X flight structures and components. Developed cost and manpower needs for basis of estimate and work breakdown structure.

• Project lead for Ares 1-X team tasked with tracking test rocket flight structures and hardware from purchase, manufacture, and delivery, assumed lead position at critical juncture to reach project completion on schedule. Coordinate hardware manufacture, transfer, and assembly on time and without incident.

• Provided engineering for preservation of Space Shuttle solid rocket booster and Orbiter flight structures and hardware for post-space shuttle program storage\retirement\museum display.

• Project manager for new flight structure media blast booth project, originating the design for a plastic and glass media blast booth for protective finish and corrosion removal from SRB major flight structures. Developed construction schedule, cost analysis, equipment and manpower needs, contract requirements for construction sub-contractor, and structure media blast specifications and requirements.

• Provided real-time engineering direction and coordination required to address flight hardware damage or anomalies and prescribed hardware repairs and processing.

• Created and/or revised flight hardware processing documentation, meeting and exceeding compliance with NASA and safety and quality assurance requirements.

• Subject matter expert for flight hardware corrosion control, protective coatings, sealants, alkaline substrate cleaners, solvents, and dry film lubricants.

• Process Review Team leader for periodic process reviews of protective finish, sealant, and dry film lubricant application documentation.

• Corrosion control team representative for flight structures. Developed Vapor Phase Corrosion Inhibitor (VpCI) application parameters and procedures for interior and exterior of flight hardware.

• Lean Six Sigma team representative for production process improvements.

• Interfaced and coordinated with NASA and other contractors as part of anomaly resolution teams, quality system audits, material review boards (MRB), for hardware processing and anomaly resolution status, special projects, and specification and operational procedure development or revisions.

Mechanical Design Engineer Teledyne Metalworking Products, Huntsville, AL 1998 – 2000

Design engineer on Plant Engineering staff for tungsten-carbide metal reclamation and processing plant. Responsibilities included, but were not limited to:

• Project leader for design and development of tungsten-carbide powder sintering furnace automation as part of multi-million dollar plant expansion.

• Developed automated powder compaction process.

• Designed and developed powder processing production line in powder mix and milling areas as part of plant expansion.

• Designed modifications and upgrades for existing plant machinery and material handling processes.

Mechanical Engineer Bridgestone/Firestone Tire Company, LaVergne, TN 1995 - 1998

Engineer in charge of machinery and processes for tire curing department, final inspection department, tire test department, and warehouse for truck tire manufacturing division. Served as project engineer for several multi-million dollar plant automation projects. Responsibilities included, but were not limited to:

• Installed, maintained, and upgraded tire curing process.

• Maintained and upgraded tire x-ray, balance, and runout inspection machinery.

• Maintained and upgraded automated material handling system in truck tire warehouse.

• Installed, modified, and maintained all tire conveyor systems.

• Organized labor / manpower needs; prepared project costing and scheduling.

• Conducted test procedures for new plant automation.
