Summary

Seeking a Quality Engineering position to utilize my TQM experienced and skills to develop, implement and maintain a Quality system in accordance with (ISO 9000 /QS9000/TS16949). I have over twenty years of Quality and Electronic manufacturing experience, including Quality Management, Supervision, Engineering, Inspection and Prototype Development. I also have eight years of automotive experience working with OEM’s Chrysler, Siemens VDO and Continental. I am highly skilled in directing, motivating, and coordinating teams to achieve the specific goals and objectives driven by customer demand.

Professional Experience

Facility Manager, Uti Contract Logistics and Distribution Huntsville AL Mar. 25, 2002 to Jan. 15, 2011

Responsible for all matters concerning Quality including TQM, APQP, FMEA, PPAP, QSA, Control plans and Technical Support contracts / activities. I worked with the Corporate Quality team as well to help maintain a global quality system. Selected to work with a cross functional team to standardize the quality procedures for all sites. I managed several teams of warehouse workers and maintained 100% inventory valued at over 10 Million dollars. I supervised all of the technical support, quality teams, receiving and shipping teams in the facility. Trained all employees for each job in the warehouse and also scheduled all initial training as well as the recertification dates. Set up schedules for preventive maintenance for equipment, forklifts and maintain the equipment calibration as well. I managed the incoming material supply to assure that all technical support activity had enough material to complete the builds required by the customer, while at the same time keeping the cost at a minimum. I was responsible for the P&L profit and loss for the Huntsville sight as well. Traveled to other facility sites to perform internal quality audits and prepare them for ISO /QS/ TS audits as well. These audits also included quality, safety, process and housekeeping as well. Worked closely with all suppliers and Automotive OEM’s to make sure that the quality requirements were met at all times. I lead the quality team on the 8D preventive and corrective action process.

Quality Manager, Telco Inc. Contract Manufacturing Franklin, TN Feb. 2, 1999 to Aug. 6, 2001

Responsible for all matters concerning Quality, I was responsible for establishing and maintaining an effective and economic Quality Management System. I was a member of the Presidents Staff on the corporate level; I worked with organizational structure, management responsibilities, procedures, processes and resources for implementing Total Quality Management. I ensured that Corrective Actions were implemented to prevent recurrences of system problems and non-conformance's. I conducted Management Reviews to ascertain that the Quality Management System was effective in achieving its objectives and continued to reflect Telco, Inc.’s Mission. I was the Management Representative for Telco concerning the Quality Manual, the ISO 9002 Program and Registrar Interface on all matters concerning the ISO 9002 program. My responsibilities also include Quality and Test Engineering I supported all Business Units of Telco in these capacities. I implemented ECO changes, set up SPC points, correlated defect data for process improvements, developed inspection plans, drove corrective actions and conducted process capability studies. Telco was working on ISO cert for three years without success, under my direction it was achieved in my first year of employment with them as a Quality Engineer. I was promoted to Quality Manager the following year.

Quality Engineer, Avex Electronics Huntsville, AL Nov. 1991 to Dec. 4, 1998

Responsible for implementing ECO changes, DOE for problem resolutions when applicable and setting up SPC data checkpoints. Correlating defect data to SPC charts and discussing SPC trends/out of control conditions with supervisors. Drove corrective actions for Quality, authorized returned material, vendor issues and customer complaints. I also wrote procedures and developed inspection plans. Served as liaison between the Quality Manager and Quality Inspectors to resolve and rectify quality issues. Conducted monthly quality reviews with customers and support teams. I performed process capability studies, process verification test, first article verification and prototype development inspections. I also served as customer contact for quality issues and liaison to manufacturing support teams. Provided and maintained software for quality calculations and data base queries. Ensured that ISO 9000 requirements were maintained, resolved quality issues in a timely manner and ensured that the customer received goods and services that met or exceeded their expectations. I conducted weekly quality awareness and yield meetings. I also acted as vendor QE on programs with component and material issues. I ensured that ISO 9000 requirements were maintained at all times through regularly scheduled internal audits.

Quality Inspector, Manpower Temp Agency 1988 to Nov. 1991

Worked as a Quality inspector in various companies where I inspected wire assemblies, PCBs, PTH, SMT technologies and boxbuild products. I also recorded inspection and process performance data to be used by the Q.E.'s for correlation and process improvements. I maintained SPC plot points at all inspection locations to assure that the process was in control. I was also responsible for out of box inspection and testing for all finished products.
