PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE AND ACCOMPLISHMENTS
- As a Director, recruited, trained and supervised 30-person engineering team, which included first and second level management, responsible for the development and delivery of device drivers, microcode, micro kernel and manufacturing diagnostics using IPD practices.
- Managed multiple 6 million dollar product development projects within budget, while exceeding product specifications and specified FCS; and, responsible for personal budgets up to 5 million dollars.
- Contributed 60 percent of the company’s revenue by directing and championing high margin products by designing innovative and scalable engineering solutions.
- Managed vendors effectively, working jointly and persuasively to obtain price and feature set requirements for product requirements.
- Created a multi-warehouse corporate IT solution for a 12 million dollar company, supporting 100 plus employees and 1500 clients. Designed virtual warehouse model with point of sale, document imaging and integrated VoIP with custom CRM workflows and a layered e-commerce web portal.
- As a Senior Manager, successfully directed Software, Hardware, Manufacturing engineering, Tech Pubs, QA and Compliance Testing groups in the development of digital media products which range from next-generation to incremental products that follow IPPD, IPD or SDLC.
- Increased efficiencies and produced significant cost savings in manufacturing and development while obtaining a combined 3x increase in revenue expectations by conceptualizing and promoting engineering, business and marketing strategies for a one product fits all digital media product.
- As a Software Manager and Principal Engineer, responsible for development and delivery of kernel drivers, and device dependent libraries for desktop digital media products for IRIX, Linux and NT operating systems.
- Extensive experience in Customer Support and Escalation Management with a track record in major accounts and VAR/EOM relationships.
- As principal software engineer and design lead, successfully brought all assigned software development programs to production ahead of schedule.
- Played a key role in the design of SGI’s video library design, (openVL), I2C Hardware Abstraction Layer and video control panel and realtime texture mapping toolkit/API library for desktop digital video products.
- Contributed to the design and development of graphics device drivers for multi-head graphics support and X-server video extensions.
- Extensive software engineering experience, including: software simulation design, using GL and OpenGL and full design and implementation of a network packet switched windowing system which predates the generally accepted X and NeWS windowing system of that period.
- Years of Unix, IRIX, Windows and VMS systems programming and system administration as a corporate lab administrator and as an IT consultant.
