SUMMARY
• Experienced project manager with ability to prioritize effectively, meet deadlines, quickly assess and resolve problems, compile data and effectively communicate results
• Ability to work independently and meet goals in a fast-paced environment while paying very close attention to detail
• Professionally responsible for top priority-large projects, flexible, with a dedicated “can-do” attitude
• Excellent communication, organizational, customer-relations and presentation skills
• Proactive, creative team-player with a proven track record in a fast paced demanding environment
RESEARCH
• Authored a funding proposal and received a grant to do a research project on an invasive plants. With this grant I analyzed, researched and studied plant samples and collected data to generate statistics to identify if the increased levels of nitrogen and micro nutrients in plant samples could be traced to run-off water from nearby urban development. I also was selected to give an oral presentation to audiences at the annual Keene State College Academic Excellence Conference Independent Study (Fall 2005-Spring 2006)
• Researched and presented on Hydrophilic Polymers and their use in the prevention of paralysis in spinal cord injuries~ Polymer Chemistry (Spring 2006)
• Used collection of feathers from various bird species (omnivorous through herbivorous) to trace their diets using stable isotopes~Research Rotations (Spring 2004)
• Completed an independent lab research with crossbreeding drosophila to find sex-linked genes. Presented the results to peers~Genetics (Fall 2003)
EXPERIENCE
• Warwick Mills, Lab Tech, 2006 – 2009 R&D Tech Member --Chem-Bio Team: Research and Development Lab for US Army Tents
• Fabricated textile composite coupons for physical properties testing using ASTM methods and Instron.
• Tested for tensile, peel, permeability, Gelbo flex, flame resistance, abrasion resistance and hydrostatic resistance.
• Worked on development of production parameters, bond parameters and repair methods. Tested bond strength.
• Recorded all data and observations in Excel format.
Quality Control lab tech:
• Tested raw materials for acceptance.
• Tested woven fabrics and laminates for in-process and final product verification.
• Tests included crimp, twist, permeability, break, tear, grab and peel strength, puncture resistance, shrinkage, yarn count and Soxhlet extractions.
• Documented results into QC data base
R&D Tech Member –Engineering Team (working on new glove and tent prototypes)
• Prepare sample polymer coatings, conducting standardized testing using different lab equipment, calibrating equipment, recording and documenting all data into excel format
• Analyze data from test to generate path forward with project
• Trained new techs on equipment and lab techniques
• Wrote SOP’s, SMP’s, MOP’s, build tables, run sheets, and style sheets
Keene State College, Lab Assistant, 6/2005-2007
• Prepared plant samples to analyze using Mass Spectrometer or XRF
• Measured, recorded and charted plant samples into Excel
• Numbered samples and recorded data into spreadsheet and graphs
• Assisted with keeping all labs in biology department organized, clean and sterile
• Oversaw care and feeding of drosophila used in research projects
• Watered, fed and took inventory of the College’s large collection of plants throughout their buildings and greenhouse
• Maintained upkeep of the lab glassware.
• Autoclave sterilization
