Product Design Engineer Intern
Designed and developed intra-medullary nailing systems including implants and instruments. Played a significant role in the entire development process including; modeling, prototyping, testing, and report writing for this midsized medical device company.
• Created new innovative designs for implants and instruments using both Autodesk Inventor and Pro/Engineer.
• Made significant contributions to the redesign for hexalobe screws and drivers to ensure stick-fit while maintaining function and a significant tolerance range for ease of manufacture.
• Worked with Engineers and surgeons in cadaver labs in order to make design decisions and document procedures.
• Experimenter on several products which were released in the fourth quarter.

• Created algorithms which decreased the credit risk of the company by 6 million dollars in one day.

Oversaw all design decisions, team meetings, project grant requests, presentations, and testing. Primary modeler of a new design of a femoral component for a total knee arthroplasty. Led a team of three additional mechanical engineers.
