Project Experience:
Project#1: Boeing 787 Signal Processing system design & Testing in Flight Control Systems domain
Environment:
Role System Design and Testing Operating system: Windows 2000
Language: C Bug tracking tools used: I-net Track
CM tools: CM21
Information:
Customer Boeing
Software criticality as per DO-178B: Level A
Description:
Boeing 787 Flight Control System is a complete fly by wire. It is most advanced and equally complex system ever designed in flight controls history. Boeing 787 Flight Control Systems software has been divided into different partitions to perform many of its functions independently and efficiently. Signal Processing (SP) partition within the Flight Controls Module (FCM) handles the Input/Output functionality for the 787 Flight Control Electronics (FCE). Within the FCM, the Signal Processing Partition uses the IMB (Inter Modular Bus) protocol for inter-partition communication and ARINC 429 bus is used by the MCP to transmit configuration data to the Output Partitions.
Roles and Responsibilities:
Designing and developing the system software based on the SCR(System/Software Change request)
Designing and developing of Compatibility checks of 787 Signal Processing
System changes as per the design document updates or SCR (system/software change request), which includes system/ software updates for the new logic implemented.
Testing of code changes on the integration bench for functional accuracy.
Trace updates
Project#2: Flight Management System & Software Development
Environment:
Role System Design and Testing Operating system: Windows 2000
Language: C, C++ Testing Tools used: HADS
CM tools: CM21 Bug tracking tools used: I-net Track
Information:
Customer Airbus, Boeing
Software criticality as per DO-178B: Level B
Description:
From the time, the aircrafts were brought in to commercial use; there has been continuous effort to increase the revenue-generating load of aircraft (passengers or cargo) and to reduce the weight of aircraft and space used up by the crew and aircraft parts. Every time, the technology has was challenged to invent lighter and stronger material. Earlier the a/c flew with following cockpit crew – Pilot, Co-pilot, Radio officer, Navigator and Flight Engineer. Modern aircraft flies with only Pilot and Co-pilot. The most of the functions that were carried out by the remaining cockpit crew any many more function are now done by the system know known as “Flight Management System” (FMS). FMS automate many manual functions. It performs functions faster and more accurately. It reduces total workload of the Pilot. FMS optimizes navigation by direct routing whenever required and by using optimum profiles. FMS has a role to play during the entire duration of flight - right from taxiing to take off to landing. FMS helps pilot in Flight planning, navigating, providing guidance, performance computing, providing data for EFIS display, Air-Ground Data-linking, health monitoring and diagnostics.
Roles and Responsibilities:
Team leading experience (Extra Responsibility)
Experience of Avionic and/or Functional Validation
Producing Class-level software design
Ensuring requirements are met by the design
Following process/procedures specific to compliance with DO178B
To Resolve the Issues found during the V&V and integration testing.
Involved in performing the Apps Spec reviews, System reviews, Code Reviews
Participating in Software change control review board meeting
System testing, API Testing, strategy definition, test case definition execution as per the DO-178B
Performing the Regression analysis/ testing, Black box testing, Unit testing, Functional testing and Planning and estimation of project deliverables

Identifying, reporting, tracking, debugging and verify software defects proactively
Participated in system requirement and code reviews
Functional Validation of Displays
Verification and testing of detailed design and code
Code walk through
Change Request Analysis.
Participated Code coverage using the Code test tool (Statement coverage, Branch coverage and Path coverage)

Project#3: Verification of Boeing COCOON (Code Converter of Object-Oriented Notation)
Environment:
Role: Testing Bug tracking tools I-net Track
Language: C Operating system Windows 2000
Testing Tools used: RTRT,CANTATA CM tools: ACM,CVS
Req.management tool: SMART WORKS
Information:
Customer Boeing
Software criticality as per DO-178B: Level A, Level B and Level C
Description
This project involved extensive testing of C code that had implemented the OO concepts of Class, Inheritance, Polymorphism, etc using C as the coding language. COCOON reads the XML specification of a graphical widget (that has to be displayed on the Cockpit Display System) and auto generates the equivalent code to draw this image using C.
Further the generated output is integrated with the SGL library. The XML specification is got by using the IMA (Interactive Multi-purpose Advanced Graphic Editor) editor.
Roles and Responsibilities:
System testing, API Testing, strategy definition, test case definition execution as per the DO-178B
Performing the Regression analysis/ testing, Black box testing, Unit testing, Functional testing and Planning and estimation of project deliverables

Participated Code coverage using the Code test tool ( Statement coverage, Branch coverage and Path coverage)
Involved in certification activity with DER and FAA
Participating in Software change review board meetings
Also I have been involved in testing the modules:
CDS (Cockpit Display System) which is LEVEL A components for Airbus 380. A380 will be the largest Civil Aircraft when operational.
