Member of Database Engineering responsible for day to day operations of over 100 database servers housing over 250 ORACLE instances. Servers are predominantly HP Unix and IBM AIX utilizing ORACLE versions 7, 8, 9 and 10. Primary responsibilities are the day to day support of 30 ORACLE databases that include the Key Customer System and the Computer Technology Information System at DTE. Completely reorganized and created the 200 Gigabyte SelectCare Database Warehouse from OpenVMS to a Windows NT platform utilizing ORACLE version 8.0.5 to include capacity planning and hardware and software configuration. Responsible for the training needs of the entire Medical Informatics Team in all aspects of ORACLE to include introductory and advanced SQLPlus, performance tuning, database administration and migration techniques.

Application support responsibility for the Claims Database containing risk management data as well as the ORACLE Financial Application. Involved with a total team effort to re-engineer the entire hardware / software configuration for all of Alexsis's data processing needs to include capacity planning, software installations and upgrades, and backup and recovery.
