Have broad range of experience in several areas of management in both public and private companies. I've been a Controller taking a San Antonio company public, a VP of Finance for a Dallas public company and the VP of Operations for a successful billion-dollar telecommunications company.

Received a bachelor's degree in Accounting and minor in Computer Science from Brigham Young University. Work experience began in Information Systems with GTE of the Southwest. Prior to 2005 spent 10 years as a Vice President with VarTec Telecom until displacement due to merger / corporate reorganization. Currently, I'm working consulting engagements for an International Telecom Carrier and a Cell Phone Service Provider.

SELF EMPLOYED (NOV 2005 to Current)

Engaged in management consulting and system development. Designed and developed an International Toll Billing System for a Dallas, US / London, UK based International Telecom Carrier. Have developed several production processes including creating a Least Cost Matrix of International Carriers used for pricing and cost control for the Client Company. Developed a Rating Engine, performing the Call Detail Record (CDR) mediation, daily rating and billing. Providing various Financial, System Development and Project management for a Wireless Prepaid Cell Phone Service Provider.

MANAGEMENT CONSULTANT (Feb 2005 to Nov 2005)

The Management Network Group (TMNG publicly held telecommunications consulting group)

Worked a consulting engagement as a Subject Matter Expert for The Management Network Group in Dallas, TX. Client Company (EDS) runs national data network for Bank of America. Reviewed the administrative and operational databases, Business Process Management and Financial/Operational Reporting for EDS' Voice & Data Network. Worked an engagement in Canada for TMNG in 1994 into 95 for client company Unitel, which was a national telecom company for Canada and ultimately became AT&T Canada. Engagement was a revenue assurance review to identify control weaknesses and lost billing.

VICE PRESIDENT - (February 1995 To October 2004)

VarTec Telecom, Dallas, TX (Largest privately held long distance/local Telecommunications Company in U.S.)

Besides managing operational reporting for senior management, lead team to integrate VarTec and Excel's mediation platforms (500 million records processed each month) post their May 2002 merger (25 DEX/DMS switches in US). Developed & deployed management systems for VarTec's European Operations which tracked LD usage by customer, market channel and market area.

Was the Vice President of Operations & Engineering from 1995 to 1999. Managed 20 field and 40 staff growing the Company's network from 4 to 9 DMS telephone switches (over 65,000 access lines serving lower 48 states) meeting the demand of daily call volume growing from 25 thousand hrs/day to over 400 thousand hrs/day.

PRESIDENT & CHIEF OPERATING OFFICER - (1992 to 1994)

ANI Communications, Inc., Arlington, Texas (Privately held Customer Care and Telecommunications Provider)

Co-founded ANI Communications in February 1992 with acquisition of telemessaging company and implementation of ACD based client services project for Affiliated Computer Services (ACS), a Dallas based mainframe compute utility service bureau.

VICE PRESIDENT FINANCE - (1989 to 1992)

International Telecharge, Inc. Dallas, Texas ($300 million/yr. Public Alternate Operator Services Provider)

Managed all the accounting, treasury and finance functions, including outside audits, of the Company. Had 10K, 10Q reporting and personally drafted much of the public accounting documents. In addition, managed the out-sourcing of the Company's $20 million data processing department. Key negotiator with network providers including MCI ($50 million/yr. contract) and had both MIS and Network responsibilities during tenure with the Company. Network consisted of six NorTel DMS 250 switches connecting a 1,000 plus operator call center to ITI's national Operator Services Network.

VICE PRESIDENT FINANCE - (1986 to 1988)

American Communications, Inc., Wichita, Kansas (Privately held $15 million/yr. Long Distance Reseller)

Managed all of the financial and operational functions of American Communications including accounting, various treasury functions, strategic planning and network operations. Lead the strategic and tactical planning of the Company's business operations with emphasis on expansion and infrastructure. Oversaw portions of the Company's marketing efforts including product development. Had financial and operational responsibilities for the Company's eight switch, five state telecommunications network. Put together multi-million dollar lease financing to support the Company's capital plan including creating the Company's business plans and operating budgets. Authored a three million-dollar private placement debenture-offering memorandum.

MANAGEMENT CONSULTANT - (1985 to 1986)

Self-Employed, San Antonio, Texas

Clients included ClayDesta Communications, Inc., Midland, Texas; MidAmerican Long Distance Company of Omaha, Nebraska; and American Communications, Inc. of Wichita, Kansas. Assignments included preparing private placement memorandum, business plans, budgets, financial reporting, internal control policies and network & operations cost accounting.

CONTROLLER - (1982 to 1985)

Satelco, Inc., San Antonio, Texas (publicly held long distance telephone company).

Managed accounting functions including A/R (55,000 customers), Payroll, A/P, Cost Accounting, Budgets & Analysis, Credit & Collections and Financial Reporting (public and internal). Managed out side audits and 10K, 10Q and annual reporting. Engaged Deloitte Haskins & Sells and was a key contributor in preparing Satelco for its IPO.

GENERAL MANAGER - (1981 to 1982)

HPB Data Systems, Inc., San Angelo, Texas (Privately held Computer Company)

General Manager and part owner in personal computer dealership. Sold and implemented PC's for business applications. Developed and sold various special application programs.

SYSTEMS & BUDGETS - (1979 to 1981)

GTE of the Southwest, San Angelo, Texas

Held various positions with GTE-SW, a local telephone company, including Systems Analyst, Budget Analyst, System Coordinator and Statistician. Responsibilities included systems liaison for Accounting, Budget and Data Processing Departments; budget analyst preparing corporate plans, financial reporting, rate case preparation, cash forecast; and systems coordinator responsible for GTE-SW's installation of a corporate wide, real-time financial reporting and forecasting system.
