OBJECTIVE:
To work in a globally competitive and challenging environment to gain the twin benefits of job satisfaction and a steady paced professional growth. A position in your company would allow me to further hone my skills and knowledge. I want to enhance my engineering experience whilst contributing to the company by implementing my technical and analytical skills to mutual advantage.
EDUCATION & QUALIFICATION
2010 to 2012 MSc in Engineering/Industrial Management.
International Technological University, USA.
Modules included: project management; manufacturing processes, composite engineering systems, research skills, project management, engineering systems simulations, structural design using finite element (Ansys)
2005 to 2009 Bachelor of Technology in Mechanical Engineering (2:1)
Nizam Institute of Engineering and Technology, Hyderabad, Andhra Pradesh, India
Modules included: engineering mechanics, chemistry, Production technology, Material science & metrology, machine tools, Design of machine members, FEA, Management studies, Dynamics and kinematics of machines, CAD/CAM, Operations research.
Major project: Design and development of centrifuging setup for FRP inner shells of LPG storage cylinders, in collaboration with Rath Composites, Nizamabad, India.
SKILLS:
Computing & IT
• Competent user of Microsoft Office: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, MS Project.
• Working knowledge and practical experience of Ansys, including FEA stress analysis, heat transfer analysis)
• MatLab, Catia,
• AutoCAD (scalable components) and Solidworks.
• Material Science: materials selection and characterisation, composite manufacturing processes.
Engineering Design
• Designing a range of engineering components and structures, using design and test software such as Ansys to model static and dynamic loading and in-service stresses, reduce the risk of failure and minimise waste.
• Working knowledge of causes and types of failure, familiar with investigating failures through inspection and using optical and electron microscopy
Familiar with the engineering properties and applications of a range of materials for example ceramics, polymers, semiconductors, surface coatings, thin films, biomaterials and advanced composites
Engineering Business and Quality Management
• Working knowledge of quality management tools such as Lean, 6 Sigma and Kaizen
• Familiar with business optimisation tools such as value stream analysis and supply chain development and management
• Practical experience of using
• Total Quality Management: Quality tools, Quality by Prevention, World Class Manufacturing systems, Quality Function Deployment, Lean manufacturing, Concepts, ISO systems, Six-Sigma tools, FMEA.
Leadership and Teamwork
• As captain of university and school cricket teams, I learned to build colleagues commitment to the team’s goals and performance, boosting the confidence of colleagues in challenging situations
• As MSc student course representative, I listen to colleagues experience of the programme and negotiate improvements to the degree programme through annual programme management meetings and discussions with individual academics
Problem solving
• During my under graduation, when I was working on my project with a team of three members due to some problem one of the members had left the team and I had to take the situation under my control. We re-scheduled our project time line, divided the tasks amongst ourselves, we planned a good strategy to complete our project on time. Our hard work paid off.
RELEVANT WORK EXPERIENCE:
May 2008-January 2009 Rath Composites Industries, Nizamabad (India)
Work during the undergraduate project for manufacturing of LPG FRP inner shell and roles were:
• Lamination of composite materials.
• Analyzing the properties of composite materials.
• Testing of composite materials.
EXTRA CURRICULAR ACTIVITIES:
• Playing cricket (Participated in Indian national cricket in school level and UK league matches.
• Listening music and surfing net.
