• Assistant Manager for the Information Technology Availability Center. Duties included management of a 24 X 7 monitoring center with a staff of 12 FTE personnel working rotating shifts.
• Developed, researched, implemented, and maintained monitoring protocols and procedures for ensuring the availability of IT services to the university.
• Communicating incidents and outages to the campus and IT management at first using listserv technology, than advancing to Public Information and Emergency Response (PIER) system.
• Played a major role in the implementation of PIER into the Universities main campus as well as the Victoria, Clear Lake, ITAC and Downtown.
• Provided training to personnel at the local and remote sites for operation of PIER.
• Utilized PIER to track and manage our IT incidents.
• Played a major role in the universities recovery from Tropical Storm Allison, I was onsite at the time of Allison and was able to establish an IT Command Center, notify IT management of the situation, develop recovery task tracking procedures, management and assignment of recovery personnel to task, none of these procedures or protocols existed prior to this time.
• Been on campus manning the IT Incident Command Post during every major incident since 2000.
• Played a major part in the assessment and implementation of the ALERTUS system I have an established relationship with Harris County OEM and the city of Houston OEM
• Conducted Lessons Learned Reviews after major IT incidents.
