I’ve recently become a U.S. permanent resident and moved to California but I’m flexible to move to wherever an open job opportunity exists through the United States and Canada.
I’ve earned my bachelor’s degree in civil engineering from Islamic Azad university central Tehran campus in 2002.
My undergraduate courses covered fundamental concepts of analysis and design methods and theories.
I’ve registered to take FE exam in October 2010, to get my EIT certificate in California.
I’ve been working in engineering field, even during my undergraduate studies in order to be able to afford my university expenses and help my family, and have achieved solid years of experience in working with soft wares based on finite element method such as SAP, ETABS and Safe.
I’ve worked as a member of design, especially steel structures and foundation, and supervision office in 3 different companies using the aforementioned soft wares.
11/2002 to 06/2003: ASP Construction: During my relatively short career period at this company which was totally in a job site, I obtained many solid work experiences. The project was a 600-unit residential complex including 8 twelve-storey towers in north western Tehran. As a member of the contractor’s team, I had to collect and peruse technical details from drawings the consultant had provided us with, and interpret these details for our own contractors and supervise them during the process.
09/2003 to 02/2005: NAJA engineering Department: As a member of supervision office, I was responsible to check the structural and architectural documents and monitor the fabrication and erection process, collect and check the NDT evaluations, reporting the project progress, and comparing the technical documents with the contractors’ for more than 7 different projects at hand with the total area of 75,000 square meters or more than 800,000 square feet.
04/2005 to 06/2008: Carpira Architecture Consultant Ltd.: As a member of design office at this company, my responsibility was modeling and get design outputs for the primitive architectural layouts by structural Analysis and design soft wares such as ETABS, and slab and foundation design by SAFE, and building codes we used mostly for Concrete structures was CSA97 (Canadian code which is very similar to Iran national concrete code), and for Steel structures we often used AISC (ASD98).
Our projects were eclectics from different types of structures: residential, commercial complexes, Industrial
Due to my interest and involvement in studying steel structures’ behavior and quality control concerns, I took NDT courses as well: welding inspection and Ultrasonic testing- UT level II , administered by Iranian Welding Research & Engineering Center in accordance with SNT-TC-1A guidelines.
I’ve also obtained professional engineering license issued by the ministry of Housing and urban planning of Iran which is necessary for an engineer to work officially and legally in Iran.
I’m also a member of Iranian Construction Engineers organization and also familiar with some other engineering soft wares such as:
AutoCAD ver.2005
AutoCAD Land Desktop Development ver.2004
Tekla Structures (XSteel) ver.14.0
I used Tekla single user version for shop drawing steel structures and estimating materials .
I’m completely familiar with custom components, drawing menu and toolbars, creating reports and other required skills
Please let me know if you need more information on my career background.
