Financial Operations Analyst/Payroll Manager, FPC 03/1999 - current

Responsibilities include management of the Payroll Department which pays up to 2000 associates. I am responsible for all payroll taxes and reporting including year end and W2's. I maintain the interface between the payroll system and general ledger, doing all payroll entries and accruals. I am responsible for maintenance of the general ledger system and all financial reporting. I do all month end and year end tie outs for the general ledger includung elimination company transactions between our 16 companies. In addition I wrote all of the financial reports within the JD Edwards software package currently used. I do various month end functions including foreign entity currency exchange and booking of multiple journal entries.

While at Blair I have been involved in various system implementations including general ledger lead for the J D Edwards software, general ledger lead for the implementation of Hyperion budgeting software, and I was project manager for the implementation of a new credit system within the financial department. Currently I am the general ledger lead for the implementation of Infinium software for general ledger purposes and have just received certification in Cognos report writing. Other responsibilities include working closely with auditors. When we were a public company I was responsible for many Sarbanes Oxley Act controls within our department. Other responsibilities include working with issuance of stock, administrating severance package accruals and tracking, maintenance of multiple Access databases, and involvement in many implementations of new processes with the accounting department. I have worked with amortization of catalog advertising, bad debt reserves, employee loan administration, bank reconciliations and many of the normal functions that take place within the accounting department.

While I have been at Blair we have experienced many structure changes as management changed. I took the general ledger from one company to a structure with 16 companies plus various elimination and consolidation groupings. Our 50+ departments have required changing of associate structure within those departments. I maintain the accounting structure that tracts the labor from each department as will as the accruals and taxes.
