SELECTED ACCOMPLISHMENTS

Spearheaded entry into California solar market. Complete managed and operated power plant. Identified un-utilized assets and developed plan to enter into solar market. Developed 33 MW project, led to creation of Valos.

Project managed award-winning facility. Led NRG bid to win development rights of cogeneration plant within chemical facility. Managed development, design and EPC award of cogen-plant.

Led combined cycle plant development. Led NRG’s development of a 540 MW combined cycle plant. Managed development, permitting, design, electrical interconnection, gas and water pipelines, and EPC negotiations.

Led combined cycle plant acquisition. Complete had opportunity to acquire 1,022 MW combined cycle plant in California, but lacked technical experience or knowledge. Successfully performed due diligence, developed cost analysis, generated performance estimates and led negotiations of construction settlement.

Managed project development. Provided project management for the development of a two phase solar project in California. Managed the selection, contracts, work scope and budgets of consulting firms, managed the application, meetings and review of the electrical interconnection and led all discussions with government entities.

Real estate acquisition. Performed real estate search, cost/benefit analysis and identified optimal site for Rockland Capital and Noble Gas to develop large peaking project. Developed and negotiated land purchase agreement. Performed fatal flaw analysis and feasibility study of selected property.

Entered new energy markets. NRG was missing the opportunity to participate in Texas and Caribbean energy markets. Generated strategy centered on acquiring existing plants and projects under development. Proposed and gained approval for the new market entrance. Negotiated purchase agreements for acquisitions.

CAREER HISTORY

Consultant, 2011 to Present. Develop and manage special projects, including 40 MW solar and 500 MW peaking.

Chief Development Officer, Valos Solar Ventures, LLC, 2010 to 2011. Led development activities for new solar projects. Responsible for permitting, interconnection, design, costs, performance and bidding.

Vice President, Development, Complete Energy Holdings, LLC, 2004 to 2010. Responsible for project management, contract negotiations and settlements. Identified strategic opportunities and led acquisitions, expansions and divestitures. Developed and presented proposals, negotiated contracts and settled disputes.

Director, North America Projects, NRG Energy, Inc., 2003 to 2004. Managed sales process, including bid prep, selection of winning bids, contract negotiations and regulatory approvals. Collaborated with outside legal counsel.

Director, Business Development, NRG Energy, Inc., 1995 to 2003. Managed development of new power plant projects, asset acquisitions and strategic business ventures. Began with NRG as Director, Technical Services.

Earlier: Field / Project Engineer for Northern States Power Co. (NSP) for construction of peaking facility. Began with NSP as Mechanical Engineer, performing plant modifications/expansions and design-build projects.
