For the past 20 years, I have been employed in capacities in which I either have done electrical work or telecommunications work. Currently, I was recently laid off from AT&T, but as an employee of Verizon/Bell Atlantic, I did Line Construction, Splicing (including fiber), and Installation and Repair. AT RCN Technologies, I was a manager and trainer. I have managerial experience and extensive field experience. I have full knowledge of OSHA regulations and guidelines.

Another one of my abilities is that I build, repair, and debug computer systems. I have not received any accreditations or certifications as of yet, but I would like to continue and advance my education towards these goals.

I currently posses a clean Florida State License, CDL class A, with Tank, Haz-Mat, Passenger, and Doubles and Triples endorsements.

Service Technician

As a Technician I installed, maintained, and repaired pots, adsl, and u-verse lines for residential and commercial customers. Safely drive to and from various locations utilizing company vehicle. Knowledge of and follow Osha rules and regulations. Knowledge and use of various test equipment, PC, Microsoft Word, Excel, Power Point, and other proprietary software. Bonded and Insured, including background check via Megan’s Law for access to schools.

Manager, Trainer

As a manager, interacting with many different personalities allowed me to display my leadership ability. I made important decisions as far as qualifying techs, progress reports, time sheets, interviewing for new hire techs, and status reports. I also help plan course outlines and curriculums. As a trainer, I prepared the new hire techs for the field. My job as a trainer was to teach the new techs how to install, repair, and maintain cable systems, telephone systems, and cable modem systems. Some of the material that I taught the students were the difference in a dual plant architecture and multi-integrated platforms, multiple dwelling units with riser and feeder cables, single units with ariel drop loops, RF signals, frequencies, fiber optic cable and copper cable procedures, installation, repair, and test equipment, telephone equipment, telephone networks, computer modems, nic cards, and customer education.

1988-2000 Verizon Brooklyn, NY

Field Technician, Lineman

As a Field Technician/Lineman for Verizon, I placed poles, cables, cross-boxes, pedestal boxes, and fiber optic cables. I also did splicing, and installation and repair. I skillfully operated many heavy-duty trucks such as The Digger, The Telsta (large bucket truck), The Frame Truck, The Blower Truck, The Rodder, and The Reel Carrier. I also towed cables on the CAT and pulled poles trailers of up to 50’ in length. I have placed cable from the central office all the way to the basement of apartment buildings in both underground and ariel capacities. I have been one of the lead men in my garage and have trained teams of new hires of up to 6 men at a time. As a splicer, I know the color codes and the specs for splicing cables in both underground and ariel capacities using both the 3M and Pickabond methods. I have also done fault locating in trunk and feeder cables. I also have done some fiber splicing. As a service tech, I installed and repaired lines in customer dwellings. I know how to use the CAT, KS meter, Combo, and various other tools necessary for I & R.
