PROJECTS UNDERTAKEN:

. Power Conversation:

V Saved approx.1.25 lac/year by altering the sintering cycle of

induction furnaces.

V Saved approx.30 thousands/year by introducing a system to control

light load of furnace control room.

. Furnace Lining Life:

V Improved method of preheating of ramming mass is introduced, which

along with some other measures has improved the lining life by 30%.

. 5-S:

V Worked as team leader for 5-S activities in the shop.

V Design of platforms in front of induction furnaces is changed to

maintain the cleanliness of the area and to reduce the fatigue of

pouring workers.

. Breakdown Reduction:

V Furnace breakdowns due to water leakage in control panels is reduced

by improving the method of D.M. water handling.

V Water leakage at inlet and outlet of induction coil is reduced by

replacing the flexible rubber hose pipes with steel pipes and K-

joints.

. Cost Reduction:

V NiCr scrapped charging baskets and heater tubes are used as a

substitute of Ni and FeCr in IKA material to reduce the alloy

consumption. Approx. saving = 1.02 lac/year.
