POSITION Security Officer

SUMMARY OF QUALIFICATION:

Security Officer: In charge of the security of the vessel in port and at sea. Conduct training to crew

members in security/safety such as prevention of transporting illegal drugs, stowaways, weapons, anti-

terrorist/piracy. Leader of search parties prior departure each ports and report any breach of security.

Safety Officer: In charge of safety appliances, such as fire extinguishers, hydrants, hoses, breathing

apparatus, life boats and other life saving materials, ensure all are in good working condition.

Conduct seminars/ trainings, drills in relation to safety matters.

Medical Officer: Ensure that all crew are in good heath, prescribe necessary medicines as appropriate.

Attend to sick/ injured crew members.

Cargo Officer: Ensure that all fruit /meat cargoes are in good condition, from the time cargoes are loaded

until it is discharged. In port, screening cargo condition during loading/handling and proper stowage.

Reject all cargoes that does not meet quality standards. Chief quality cargo control officer.

Prior departure, check that all cargoes are lashed, well secured.

At sea, daily inspection of appearance of cargoes, measure temperatures, CO2, humidity etc. Coordinate

with engineers that proper cooling to the cargoes is applied. Daily monitoring of reefer containers.

Supervise the repairs, cleaning of cargo holds prior loading.

In charge of the maintenance, cleanliness of the vessel including cargo gears/machinery. Update all cargo

gear certificates, documents.

Others:

Prepare purchase/order for various materials for the entire voyage.

Prepare weekly, monthly, quarterly, yearly various documents incl. crew overtime, maintenance reports, protest.

If situation arises, act as radio officer, navigation officer.

Have work for various nationalities, Norwegian, Swedish, British, Japanese, Greek, Spanish, etc. during my sea service.

Degree: Associate in Nautical Science, Maritime Studies
