During my professional career I have gained considerable experience in the following documentation / software:-

JCT Standard Forms of Contract - 1963, 1980, 1981, 1998 editions, along with various associated Standard Forms of Subcontract including Nominated - in both the old & new forms. NEC, ICE, & FIDIC forms of contract.

Standard Method of Measurement - editions Six and Seven

Computer Software packages used on a daily basis, for cost analysis to valuations and claims production, include Windows 95, 98 & 2000 along with all associated packages, Lotus and Excel spreadsheets as well as Microcrosoft Word.

Fully conversant with e-mail (Microsoft Outlook 2000), and Internet.

Due to the recession the remainder of 2010 was spent freelancing where possible and any kind of work to pay the bills.

I am currently working as an estimator /surveyor for flooring sub-Contractor based in Epsom surrey , the work involves creating new opportunities with new clients to bring in more business and estimating and tendering all new contracts .

February 2010

To April 2010 Temporary contract – Senior Surveyor required in the interim whist two new appointments worked their notice period before joining the company. The business needed someone competent enough to complete and finalise two outstanding accounts of completed works both with the client/ PQS and the sub contractors to achieve best possible margins , this required a complete restart on the account picking up all variations and claims for extension of time and pursuing the claim to agreement .Whilst at the firm other requirements were to procure two small jobs to get them started on site one being new showers and changing rooms for queens mead sports centre London and a conversion of commercial unit and flat over into one private dwelling in Brighton circa £300k

September 2009

To Dec 2009 ME Construction

Temporary contract- Senior Surveyor required for help with the final account of a 7.5 million pound house in Hyde Park which had 2.5 million works over 32 weeks. The original contract was let as a two stage tender based on an indicative BOQ due to having two architects and three interior designers working on the project at the time original surveyor was being inundated with revised drawings sometimes five versions of the same drawing in on a single day from 5 different people so needed help to assess the project. I had to re-measure the carpentry/decorations and plastering packages then value all the variations to date and produced a detailed account of the actual works showing all the omits and additions to the original BOQ and raising reasons for the extension of time claim.

August 2009 Senior Surveyor for £35 million project consisting of a large refurbishment and new build project based in Croydon consisting of constructing 226 apartments for private use in an existing office block & constructing 96 new Housing association apartments with basement car park providing 225 car parking spaces.

Responsible for all contractual and commercial aspects of the project with the subcontractors. Procurement procedures, sub contractor accounts monthly valuations. Issue of monthly payment certificates. Budgetary advice and analysis right the way through to final accounts. Final account agreements with the sub contractors

March 2004 Eugena Limited

To

April 2007 senior surveyor in Dec 06. Based in Rayne’s Park and fully responsible for all financial and contractual aspects of contracts ranging from 250k-3.5mill in this medium sized building company. Duties Included overseeing and managing the accounts, estimating, procurement, purchasing, and surveying Eugena specialised in Hospital, Local government works and private clients. Lead role in the procurement of Eugena’s biggest residential new build 14 million. I believe it is better to get £50 20 times than to get £500 once.

After successfully negotiating a two stage contract for UCLH in Queen Square circa 570k and managing it to completion maintaining good client relations this then enabled me to nurture the relationship with the client and further negotiate additional 2 stage works within Queen Square establishment 1.7 million new canteen, 2.7 million new ear and nose clinic. The relationship with the PQS progressed and a few of the additional 2 stage tendered contracts are listed below:
