William Sonoma Inc (WSI) is an American consumer retail company that sells kitchen wares, furniture, linens, as well as other house wares and home furnishings, along with a variety of specialty foods and retail items.

Project Profile:

The data migration project dealt with integration of employee data for William Sonoma Inc . The project involved integration of data from various source systems like DB2, Mainframe, Excel into a single Oracle data warehouse. The project dealt with integrating the information like employee’s personal data, address, contact details, training details, payroll information, etc into a single data warehouse for analysis effective decision making into a single data warehouse for analysis effective decision making.

Responsibilities:

Maintained previously existing graphs and added enhancements to existing graphs.

Extensive use of Ab Initio components like reformat, filter by expression, join, sort etc in enhancements.

Understand the requirements with the business users and then transforming the requirements in Business requirements documents.

Worked on IndusInd Bank Business Solution (IBBS) to keep repository of all customer data, including Products subscribed example accounts, loans, credit cards etc.

Responsibilities:

Gathered Business requirements and Mapping documents.

Multiple graphs were built to unload all the data needed from different source databases by configuring the dbc file in the Input Table component.

Developed the graphs using the GDE, with partition by round robin, partition by key, rollup, sort, scanning, dedup sort, reformat, join, merge, gather components.

Used components like run program and runsql components to run UNIX and SQL commands in AB Initio. Also used the components like filter by expression, partition by expression, replicate, partition by key and sort Components.

Working with Departition Components like Gather, Interleave in order to De-partition and Repartition the data from Multi File accordingly.

Performing transformations of source data with Transform components like Join, Match Sorted, Dedup Sorted, Reformat, Filter-by- Expression.

Created Summary tables using Rollup, Scan & Aggregate.

Modified the AB Initio components parameters, utilize data parallelism and thereby improve the overall performance to fine-tune the execution times.

Used Data Parallelism, Pipeline Parallelism and Component Parallelism in Graphs, where huge data files are partitioned into multi-files and each segment is processed simultaneously.

Performed complex queries involving large data volumes of data. Some of these queries run parallel against the same table to improve the performance.
