Academic Project:

Title:“secured file transfer agent”

Responsibility: The project Secure File Transfer Agent is one of the powerful software developed to achieve transfer of files between any two ports in a well-secured manner. It’s been developed by using JAVA. It’s a platform independent software. It has “Share Manager”, “User Manager”, “Log Manager” and “Server Manager” as its modules. Encryption and Decryption module is an important sub module, which comes under the “Server Manager”.

The Encryption and Decryption module indicates the two algorithms namely “RSA” and “Custom”. The server decides the type of data and the algorithm for encryption and decryption. Two encryption algorithms such as “RSA” and “Custom” and data format such as “ASCII” are provided so that the server may choose any one alternatively to enhance security.

The “User Manager” who is responsible for all the operations performed regarding the user accounts. The “Share Manager” to allocate the share files. Here the files alone are selected from different drives instead of allowing the full drive for share on the network. The “Server Manager” is responsible to start the server with a port number after the shares are set. Once the server is set on it listens to the client’s request. The Message Information System (MIS) adds a great support to this project. This is present in the “Log Manager” in order to view the users who had made illegal attempts.
