CAREER ACHIEVEMENTS

Projects in Jeopardy:

Hotel Project at Standstill: Took ownership of 4-story hotel project at a standstill. Project had serious problems: primary problem was the building was 2 feet over the property line. Collected facts, obtained all parties’ cooperation and approached county commission. Commission granted variance, no fines. Completed project.

Architectural / Engineering Conflicts: Six-story hotel was over a year behind schedule. It had serious architectural and engineering conflicts. Worked 120 days without a break; reopened lines of communication, rescheduled trades, interpreted drawings/requested revisions. Delivered project in 8 months.

OSHA Red-tagged Resort: Recommended to GC by contacts to take over 6-story resort red-tagged by OSHA and idle for 3 months. Brought the site up to OSHA standards and completed project in a little less than 12 months.

Construction Management / Construction Superintendent:

• Manage all stages of construction projects from pre-construction to close-out.

• Interface with customers through all phases of project and resolve any outstanding issues.

• Evaluate blueprints and documents for discrepancies and engineering ideas; create detailed scope of work, and determine project objectives, schedules, procedures and quality standards.

• Perform and audit project needs assessment including project schedules, engineering, insurance, document filings, purchase materials, labor cost, job cost reporting, equipment, and more.

• Monitor and control project safety, regulatory compliance, quality, budgets and schedules.

• Establish and maintain relationships and with city and county building departments, subcontractors, and key personnel to ensure smooth and quick operations. Obtain licenses and COs.

• Provide day-to-day leadership in regards to scheduling of support staff and trades, change control, quality control and time management to assure successful and on-time completion.

• Mobilize project site, including trailer set-up, temporary utilities and obtaining permits and inspections.

• Implement post construction tasks including preparing and completing punch lists, overseeing site clean-up, assembling as-built drawings and owner materials, issuing and reviewing guarantees, operating instructions and warranties, and delivering certificates of occupancy and permits.
