Body Shop Manager

BACKUS CADILLAC PONTIAC

1821 E. Victory Drive, Savannah, GA 912-***-****

Managing the body shop for this Cadillac dealership was a very difficult challenge, as I was the youngest manager ever hired and really had to rise to this great challenge. My duties included being in charge of every aspect of the bodyshop. Was responsible for exceptional customer relations, advertising, and managing every employee in my department, which included 3 bodyman, 1 painter, 2 painters helpers, 2 porters, and an office manager. I also needed to keep good communication with the Sales, Service, and Parts Department, because all warranty and service work done in my department needed to be done with quality and precision in order to uphold a great name of the company.

Assistant Manager and Painter

CAROLINA AUTO TRIM

8 Neil Rd., Beaufort, SC 843-***-****

At Carolina Auto Trim I was originally hired as a painter. As a certified painter through Dupont and PPG I have many years of experience and a willingness to produce the best look and quality possible. In the beginning my duties were sanding, taping and painting cars to restore them to pre-accident condition. I was also given all the classic cars that were being restored for car shows and private collections. I have attended classes for air brushing and candy finishes, increasing my knowledge of paint and how it is properly used. After more than a year of employment there I was promoted to Asst. Mgr. which changed my duties, as it made me responsible for writing estimates, ordering parts, and quality control. Although, I still painted the custom and classic cars partly out of my love for painting and partially out of requests from customers and the owner.

General Manager and Painter

DYNA-BLAZE

1301 Boundary St., Beaufort S.C.

843-***-****

I was one of the first employees at this newly opened paint and body shop. First hired as a painter that was referred to the owner by the paint supply company. It was a brand new business and the owner was having trouble finding good technicians. Starting off as a painter I turned the shop from constant repaints and mistakes to a shop that could produce quality work and make a profit, by teaching the shop of 10 employees how to use time wisely and the best way to repair and paint a car. Along with helping the owner manage the crew I was also capable of writing accurate estimates that were fair to all parties involved; the shop, Insurance companies, and most of all the customer. This made me a very valuable employee who had a great relationship with the public. In turn, this made for a good workplace that always had plenty of work for a small hometown shop just starting out.

CHAPMANS AUTO PAINTING AND BODYWORKS

7 Randolph St., Savannah GA 30201

Chapman’s is where I started my career in the autobody industry, as the only employee of this small body shop. Being hired with little knowledge I was trained on the job to become a highly skilled in every aspect of a bodyshop, from pulling and straightening a frame or unibody, to the proper way to repair a dent, mixing paint and applying it on a vehicle to restore it to pre-accident condition. Under the close supervision of the owner, I learned how to write good estimates and to keep strong business relationships with costumers especially the Acura dealership which provided us with majority of the vehicles that we repaired. I still use those same qualities and fundamentals that I was taught.

EDUCATION AND RELATED TRAINING

Dupont refinishing and color matching: Where I took classes on proper refinishing techniques and tinting of paint.

PPG Training Center, Raleigh, NC: Proper surface preparation, tinting, blending of single stage two, and three stage paints.

ADP and CCC Pathways: I am very familiar with both estimating systems and how to use them properly to write accurate repair estimates.

Macon Tech: Automotive Technology, where I learned basic motor and suspension fundamentals.

Agape Christian Academy: Spent most of my high school years in a very small Christian setting.

PERSONAL

An all around car lover who has spent my entire life in the auto industry. I am very self motivated and self-starter, I know what needs to be done and am assertive enough to get it accomplished. I am a problem solver who is not intimidated by a good challenge, honest and willing to work. I have been an asset to any company I have worked for. I am a very company oriented individual, willing to do my best to accomplish the goals of the company.
