Engineering Intern, Matcor Metal Fabricators, a manufacturing company that performs sheet metal operations and fabricates fuel tanks, oil tanks, engine doors, cabins for tractors, with Caterpillar and John Deere as main clients (Morton, IL) USA Feb’2012-Till date

• Address the problems in packaging, discussed during the weekly conferences with clients.

• Design a method to calculate the packaging costs for different parts using time study and report to the supervisor.

• Provide proper instructions for alternate packaging, if rack packaging is not possible/available.

• Make visual guides by capturing pictures of standard packaging process and updating the router accordingly.

Caterpillar Transmission Business Unit, East Peoria

• Redesigned the cell layouts in ring gear production unit, by replacing 12 shapers (approximately) with 2 new C-50 machines.

• Successfully proposed the plan for positioning of the old machines with the new ones, so as to have the most efficient and optimized layout that can meet the production needs.

Bhilai Steel Plant, India

• Thoroughly studied various methods to improve the properties of bull head hammers used in sintering plant for crushing of limestone and dolomite

• Proposed an important method to enhance the cooling of bull head hammers, by using sprayers instead of conventional submerging, which proved better, with less brittleness.
