OBJECTIVE
I would welcome the opportunity to use the extensive international business experience I have been privileged to gain over the years, and the management training that has encompassed most of my life. I believe that I have a keen since of people, business, and a great way with customers and employees, as I have spend considerable time on both sides of those fences.
At this juncture, I want to work with a company that will welcome ideas, be flexible enough to allow their people to do what they love and exceed in, and still make time to have a family life.
I truly expect to be an asset to any company that I may join, and a person that will remain in a good companies employ, as long as we can create a mutually profitable relationship.
JOB HISTORY/DUTIES
President / CEO
Callaway Transport LLC Eden Prairie, MN
Start Date: September 2010 Still In Operation
OTR Driver / Driver Trainer
FedEx Ground (RS Transportation) Portland, OR
Start Date: November 2008 End Date: September 2010
Starting with the end of my employment with Jacksons in 2008, the economic situation made finding a job in my field difficult at best. Because I noticed openings for drivers while I searched for positions, I went to school for driving and graduated top of my class. I was employed before graduation with FedEx Ground and became a driver-trainer after less than one year of employment.
Store Manager
Jacksons Food Stores Portland, OR
Start Date: March 2008 End Date: June 2008
Jacksons went into a joint venture with Shell, and their primary business is the in-store sales of various goods and merchandise at these locations. I was retained as manager of the largest and highest volume location in Oregon, and achieved the following: Highest growth rate from previous year at 20%. (Target growth was 5%) Best loss prevention in the group. Consistently above target gross margins.
Multi-Site Manager
A.R.S. / Central Coast Oil Portland, OR
Start Date: October 2005 End Date: March 2008
My position with Jacksons, A.R.S. and Central Coast were essentially the same position and location. Shell Oil bid the operation of their retail locations on a yearly basis and therefore my position remained the same under several lessees. I was assigned multiple locations and implemented the following: The development of numerous control systems that reduced inventory loss by 24%. Turned a store with net losses of $20,000 per year to a net profit of $135,000 per year. Organized and ran a manager training program to prepare future managers.
President / Owner
F & B Corporation Saipan, CNMI & Guam
Start Date: July 2004 End Date: October 2005
DBA Bobby Cadillac’s of Saipan and Bobby Cadillac’s of Guam. Purchased 50% of this very popular Saipan based pizza parlor and tourist attraction and expanded to a second location on a neighboring island several months later. Sold interest upon moving to Oregon.
General Manager
East-West Rental Corp Saipan, CNMI
Start Date: May 1992 End Date: January 2005
Working directly under the President / CEO of this Guam based Multi-national Corporation; I was directly responsible for three primary businesses. A high-volume contractor rental business, warehouse rental and apartment rentals.
As a manager running three companies at the same time I was able to not only meet but exceed all expectations while learning some very valuable methods of time management, customer relations and organizational skills.
Marine Sales, Parts and Service Manager
Pacific International Marianas Saipan, CNMI
Start Date: December 1986 End Date: May 1992
This company hired me to expand their business into a new area, marine sales. Although they had a Marine department, it was without any leadership, lacked inventory, and had no knowledgeable staff. When allowed to run with it I expanded product lines through dealer agreements with several international manufacturers, resulting in sales increases of as much as 300%. I was able to design, permit and see the construction of the island's first marina, enabling the sale of much larger yachts and powerboats. Acted as new car manager and used car manager during times of need. Designed, built and operated a marine store and fishing center resulting in a new alternate profit center for the company, and generating an additional revenue base of $12,000 per month.
