Site Coordinator for Washington Irving High School

Responsible for the overall operations of the CAPS program within the

assigned High School. This program was designed to improve overall student

performance and attendance. Core responsibilities included but were not

limited to Budget Modification, supervision of Teachers and Program

Specialists, facilitate parent involvement, implement monthly workshops,

implementation enrichment and recreational programs, assisted students

with college information and career readiness.

Key Results:

. As the Site coordinator, students attendance improved by 85%. This was

achieved by a strong team that were able to reach out to parents on the

student's attendance, behavioral reports, and the services that we

provide that will enable better educational performance.

. Developed parent workshops that enabled parents to improve communications

with their children and informed them on the positive correlations of

parental involvement and their education

. Developed a curriculum that attracted student's interest on our

afterschool program. Program participation reached 99%, superseding the

80% goal. Students were able to receive SAT preparation, college

application assistance, and state test tutoring services.

Enhancement Piece. This role provided the experience necessary to be

AmeriCorps Member/ Site Monitor for the Summer Youth Employment Program

As an AmeriCorps member, provided administrative support to any site

assigned. The primary goal of the program was to focus on organizing

activities related to the two national priorities of education- school

success and school readiness. This was archived through workshops at the

organizations' schools programs, team meetings, and workshops. Also

participated in disaster relief events and community outreach through

organized events.

During the summer, as the SYEP Monitor, responsibilities included:
