Reporting to Vice President of Supply Chain, provide single point of contact for all Sunglasses, Clipon, Graphics, and displays procurement for 4th largest sunglass manufacturer in United States
• Assign responsibilities for and manage 1 Senior Buyer, 2 Buyers, and 1 Junior Buyer
• Travel to Asia to negotiate 2007 and 2008 contract pricing with 16 suppliers
• Developed “report card” for all suppliers to be reviewed quarterly for both parties performance regarding orders, lead-times, on time deliveries, problem solving capabilities, accounting issues
• Convinced all suppliers to give average pricing for all product categories (over 2000 SKU’s)
• Reduced COGS 5.2% 2007, and 6.4% 2008 despite increase oil prices
