My Name is Amber Woods. I am currently a CNA, working at Home Health Senior Care in El Paso, TX. My future goal is to become a Registered Nurse. As i am working on my future goal, I enjoy caring for the elderly. I also have over 75 hours at locals hospitals here in El Paso, working in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit helping nurses and other CNA’s with their daily tasks.

Experience

Volunteer, El Paso Children’s Hospital; El Paso, TX- 2012

This year i was blessed with the opportunity to become the first volunteer to be at The newest children’s hospital in El Paso, EPCH. The field that i focus on the most is working in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit. I take blood pressure, temperatures, assist with feeding and changing the babies. I also have worked with different events at the hospital that is more personal like children activities, coloring with sick patients, planning floor to floor events and working one on one with the Supervisor of Volunteering, Mr. Benjamin Fresquez.

CNA, Home Instead Senior Care; El Paso, TX - 2011-2012

I work outside of this agency caring for a 93 year old man in a senior care facility. I am his Full-Time night caregiver from 7pm-7am. My responsibilities include buying and organizing all of his supplies (Colostomy supplies and toiletries), picking up medications from pharmacy, changing colostomy unit, assisting with nightly medications, transferring, showering, changing, feeding, and being more than a caregiver but a friend to talk to.

Skills

I have a caring nature, empathetic attitude and great communication skills. I am dependable and have always been a hard-worker. I am physically able to keep up with the heavy lifting and transferring a CNA is tasked to do.
