Indiana University Track & Field Team Captain

Here I was a one of the team captains. I ranked 10th in the nation, as well as All-Conference as a freshman. I was the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference Champion in the Triple Jump. I take part in the development of workouts for the other athletes, and I lead chants when we are at competitions.

My responsibilities included assisting students or faculty with anything they needed to know about the building, and the Department. I answered the phones and helped callers with their questions. I took part in developing bulletin boards, as well as developing, editing and revising handouts, booklets, and letters. I was also in charge of keeping the office neat and organized.

Pennsylvania Governors School for Urban Teaching

Summer 2008

This was a program that was designed to aid high school students who are looking to become teachers, and was the first governor’s school of urban teaching ever!!! In this program I and 30 other students spent a month on Temple University’s campus. In the morning we taught a summer program at Duckrey Elementary School. This is where we got our teaching experience. In the afternoons we took two college courses. In addition to our teaching, and our classes we engaged in various other activities. We did community service every Saturday. We also did many group activities the helped us build patience, leadership skills, and cooperation.

My responsibilities include answering any questions that children and adults have about the animals or the artifacts in that part of the museum. I also handle and take care of the animals there. I'm a past recipient of the Silverman Internship, which is a program where a select few of interns and I put together a project to attract new visitors and better the museum.
