Professional Experience

Utah Water Research Laboratory at Utah State University, 2008 to 2011

Water Quality Researcher, Participated in field work gathering data at Pineview Reservoir, Utah, USA. Participated regularly in all kinds of limnological and stream sampling at and around the reservoir.

Lab Technician, Regularly analyzed samples collected from Pineview Reservoir and its watershed. Some of the analysis that I regularly performed included, total phosphorus, soluble reactive phosphorus, algal counts and identification, chlorophyll A analysis using high performance liquid chromatography (HPLC) and others.

Completed the 40 hour OSHA 29 CFR 1910.120 certification course (certification # 17-2008)

Professional Experience

Emery County Weed and Mosquito Department, 2006

Licensed pesticide applicator, Used both chemical and biological methods to control mosquito and noxious weed populations within the county. Obtained a Utah pesticide applicator license as well as several additional certifications such as, right of way, ornamental, forest etc.

Internship

ARCH Coal, SUFCO mine, summer 2007

Environmental engineering intern, worked on an array of environmental issues at the mine such as fixing surface cracks due to subsidence, updating Spill Prevention Cleanup and Control plans. I worked on a project to resurrect a natural spring that was displaced due to subsidence, performed water quality testing, and general reclamation among other things.
