ACADEMIC PROJECTS
Title Design of a Magnetometer Application for Android Smartphone
Duration May 2012 - Present
Précis The Android OS is one of the main smart-phone platforms that are based on a Linux kernel.
This project involves using the Android SDK and the Eclipse IDE to design a Java application that displays the ambient magnetic field strength from the phone’s in-built magnetometer.
Title 128 bit AES (Rijndael Block Cipher) Design Project
Duration Oct 2010 –Apr 2011
Précis AES cryptosystem implemented on Field Programmable Gate Array (FPGA) using VHDL.
Full synthesized RTL implementation and ASIC design flow on Xilinx Spartan 3 tool.
Title Inter- Integrated Circuit Protocol (I2C)
Duration Jun 2010 – Apr 2011
Précis Inter-Integrated Circuit Protocol (I2C) is a two wire, bi-directional serial bus that provides a simple and efficient method of data exchange between devices.
The main objective was to create a protocol which is most suitable for applications requiring occasional communication over a short distance between many devices.
The code to generate the protocol was written in Hardware Descriptive language (Verilog).
Responsibilities: Understanding the I2C protocol (Verilog) and AES cryptosystem (VHDL).
Involved in design architecture and writing test cases.
Responsible for implementing the RTL code for the design, synthesis, and validation of RTL code as well as creating the verification plan and developing the test bench for the IC.
