Senior Manager -The Global Fund (Special non-assurance project)

Coordinated the Global Fund Project in Ghana, ensuring the Principal and Sub Recipients adhered to the Global Fund Financial and Risk Management policies and advising the Global Fund Secretariat in Geneva on value for money.

• Led the capacity assessment of nominated Principal Recipients (PR) (in five functional areas) to implement approved proposals before the implementation of grants and in doing so, advised the Global Fund of identified capacity gaps. The nominated PR’s proposal was approved amounting to USD 79 million.

• Led the review of budgets, work plans, Monitoring and Evaluation (M&E) self-assessments, M&E plans and Procurement plans as well as proposed indicators and targets for programmatic performance resulting in a USD 13 million savings to the Global Fund.

• Verified results reported by the PRs against targets and expenditures and made recommendations on periodic disbursement requests based on verified achievements and expected performance. Within the period, savings of over USD 50 million was achieved.

• Go-to person or trusted business advisor to the Global Fund Secretariat in gathering and checking information/ data.

• Led and coordinated the management of data quality through the audit and reconciliation of six different data management systems for various engagement teams (debt and derivative, securitization, multifamily, non-performing loans and credit loss sub-teams) made up of eight partners and 130 team members.

• Led the management of risk by driving the execution of quality solutions within appropriate risk management standards and application of best practices and all engagements passed the PwC Risk Management Standards.

• Led the performing loans Sox implementation team to meet deadline. Organized and chaired weekly project meetings to assess and re-strategize and was viewed as a trusted business advisor that develops deep working and business relationships.

• Demonstrated ability as team player by working with other team members (including external consultants, internal audit, financial control etc.) and ensured that appropriate consultations had taken place, thereby identified and addressed issues facing, or opportunities available to, the practice or functional area.
