Appalachia Service Project
Center Director, Jonesville, VA (May 2011 - April 2012)
Directed a seasonal staff in approximately 40 home repair projects involving all aspects of residential construction. Ordered and stocked hardware and food for volunteers from various suppliers. Conducted regular staff feedback sessions. Successfully operated under a tight budget. Managed database of project specifications and pictures. Used Microsoft Excel-based project-planning and logistics software, involving the PERT system.
Finance Coordinator, Lafollette, TN (May - Aug. 2009)
Applied intensive problem solving techniques to home repair projects. Managed up to 80 volunteers per week with 4 other managers on 15 projects for 8 weeks. Managed all accounts of monetary transactions, including donations and hardware, food, gas, programming, office, and other expenses. Worked within a budget of $450 per project per week plus donations averaging $1000 per week.
