As Communications Assistant, my main job function is to assist the Communications Director with all public relations, marketing, and communications for county government. Responsibilities include regular use of Adobe Creative Suite and Microsoft Office for desktop publishing, preparing presentations, and word processing. Independently research, write, proofread, edit, and distribute news releases, citizen and employee newsletters, brochures, flyers, annual report, and other county marketing materials. Provide content for and regularly update the county web portal, the Office of Public Information website, Facebook, YouTube, and the cable station bulletin board. Organize and publicize county events, such as town meetings and dog licensing promotion. Other responsibilities include preparation and implementation of the department budget and payroll, conducting annual office inventory, and troubleshoot cable station equipment and telephone messaging system malfunctions. Work closely with the media, coordinate the Clermont Today program and training videos, and assist citizens with obtaining the county services they need.
