Experience

1. QA/QC Coating/Painting and Insulation Inspector (September 2005 - Present)

Duties & Responsibility :

• Read and to understand the Project Specification, procedures, applicable codes and standards, and Inspection and Test Plan.

• Read and comprehend the manufacturer’s product data sheets (for each product that will be used on a project)

• Attend and participate in the pre-job conference

• Prepare an inspection procedure for the project

• Verify instrument operation and accuracy

• Verify the adequacy of lighting for surface preparation, coating application and inspection activities

• Verify protective coverings/masking are installed

• Measure ambient conditions and surface temperature and verify conformance to the PDS and Project Specification

• Verify the cleanliness of compressed air (if employed for surface cleaning, dust removal or spray equipment)

• Verify removal of grease, oil and/or related contaminants (soluble salts)

• Verify the correct abrasive is on-site and stored properly

• Establish a project specific cleanliness standard prior to production surface preparation

• Verify surface cleanliness and measure surface roughness

• Verify correct coating materials and thinners are on-site and stored properly

• Verify coating are mixed, thinned and applied properly

• Verify proper calculation of target wet film thickness

• Measure the dry film thickness of each coating layer

• Verify cleanliness between coats

• Verify conformance to minimum and maximum recoat intervals

• Examine the applied coating system for continuity and defect

• Verify adequate overlap of inspection personnel during personnel switches

• Maintain a diary (Log Book) and make daily entries

• Carefully and thoroughly document the results of each of the inspections performed, including the inspection equipment brand, type and serial no.

• Prepare a daily summary of the areas worked, the work performed and any non-conformities and report the information

2. Blasting and Painting Operator (September 2002 – September 2004)

Duties & Responsibility :

1. Received training in the effective use of blast – cleaning and painting equipment and consequently assigned as painter for varies projects undertaken in Batam Fabrication Yard.

2. Who carried out actual blasting / painting operation

• Ensure that proper PPE is worn prior to start any blasting / painting operation.

• Ensure that the items or parts to be blasted / painted are secure properly or placed in proper position.

• Recheck all the hoses blasting / painting equipment prior any actual blasting / painting work.

• Follow the foreman instruction on various method statements and other specific requirements.

• Carry out of items blasting / painting to the required standard as instructed.

• Highlight to foreman or other higher authority in terms of any safety concern.

• Ensure that all blasting / painting equipment hoses are cleaned after application.

• Ensure that no spillage of material and in case of spillage ensure to have proper protection and content.
