I am an energetic, creative, and a motivated Aerospace Engineering graduate. A dedicated self-starter, I work well alone or as part of a team, often taking the lead with little direction. In addition, my educational background and practical work experience have enabled me to develop effective leadership, communication, time-management and presentation skills.

RELEVANT EXPERIENCE

Design

•Group leader of four people involving the Design of a Future Protected Vehicle (FPV), a current research project at BAE Systems. Solely responsible for both the concept and the design of the vehicle’s navigation and suspension systems. Presented the design to BAE Systems.

•Group leader of seven people for a project involving the Design of a Military Air to Air Refuelling (AAR) Aircraft. Solely responsible for designing the aircraft’s fuselage bearing the DEF and ISO standards using CATIA R5 V19, Computer Aided Design (CAD) package. Performed analysis of shear, bending and torsion stresses. Presented the finalised aircraft to the university’s faculty.

Research

•Researched into different creep tests for various composite materials and their effect on the microstructure of the composite materials. Developed an understanding of the importance of creep in materials and of the behaviour of composite materials under stress.

•Conducted research on the manufacturing process and the effects of rapid temperature changes on Carbon composites. Presented the findings to the University’s Materials and Structure faculty.

•Researched the Rotational Effects of a Wind Turbine using STAR CCM+ and Phoenics CFD codes. Developed knowledge of CFD codes and its importance in the industry.

Performance and Propulsion

•Performed a detailed analysis of an Aircraft’s Engine, using a given set of parameters. Developed an understanding of the working principles of an aircraft’s turbine engine by analyzing the cycle performance of turbo shaft and turbofan gas turbine engines.

•Understand the design and operational factors governing the performance of an aircraft.

•Understand the principles for rocket propulsion systems and the principles for prediction of rocket’s performance.

Structure

•Obtained the natural frequencies of an aircraft’s wing aerofoil analytically and by Finite Element Method (FEM), using ANSYS V11.0. Gained a better understanding of the vibrational behaviour and dynamic response of aerospace structures (wings, tail, etc.).

•Understand the relationship between microstructure and the properties of materials, the theoretical response of engineering components to complex applied loading systems and the principles of mechanics for bending and torsion loads of simple structures. Performed analysis of Aeroelasticity factors that affect Flutter and Divergence Occurrence.
