Personal 2009 - 2010

New Home: Built my home on Lake St. Catherine. Acting as Designer, Prime Contractor and General Foreman; I did the drawings and specifications. I worked up estimates and negotiated contracts. I got the permits. I did all the purchasing and scheduling. All city inspections passed without a single problem.

NASA Michoud Assembly Facility 1981 - 2009

Facilities Construction Management: Oversight of contractors on construction of facilities work covered by the Federal Acquisition Regulations. This included estimating and negotiation all contract changes, as well as outage coordination and all inspections. Projects included Chillers, Building Renovation, Parking Lots, Acres of Roofing, High Voltage Substations, LAN systems, and more.

Fabrication Planning: Working from the drawings and specifications created the fabrication plans to build new tools and modifications to existing tools. These plans sequence the work, issue materials and include the detailed work instructions to the various work groups (Machinist, Welders, Electricians, Mechanics, Transportation, etc.).

Tool Liaison: Maintenance engineering for the tools that built the External Tank. This includes trouble shooting, design changes, parts ordering and system testing/final acceptance.

Tool Instruction Manuals: From the engineering design documentation I wrote the production tool operation manuals, an example is the Stir Friction Weld Tool that fabricates the External Tank Barrels.

Bid Package Preparation: Take the drawings and specifications, bundle with the “boiler plate” and issue to contractors, run site inspections, answer all technical questions, and award contracts.

Tooling Electrician Supervisor: First line supervisor over the union personnel building and maintaining the External Tank tooling.
