As a Bridge Inspector, I inspected bridge structures to determine if hazards to the health, safety and welfare of the public were present. Maintain current bridge inventory data for use by local, state and federal officials to allocate resources for bridge. I inspected bolts on a Skidmore for elongation and the rotational capacity to make sure bolts have their proper torque, lubrication and there was no rust on the bolts. We used a chart to determine the elongation, and the damage to threads on bolts. The method used was turn of the nut which depended on the length of bolts. Scheduled and performed inspections to bring all bridges into compliance with state and federal mandates for bridge inspections. I monitored the duties of equipment operators and traffic control personnel to safely, efficiently and thoroughly conduct the inspection procedures.

As a QC Inspector, I monitored and inspected concrete for piers, columns, caps for specification conformance including reinforcing steel inspections, and post-tensioning of steel tendons and the sampling of concrete ready mix placement. I inspected bolts on a skid Moore for elongation and the rotational capacity to make sure bolts have their proper torque, and lubrication, and there was no rust on the bolts. SC 170 Bridge Project

As QA/QC inspector I monitored and inspected concrete and soils for moisture by running a one point on soils with the use of a speedy moisture and matching the curve on the family of curves, I also did reinforcing steel inspections on columns, and caps for the Chechesse River Bridge and for the Broad River Bridge. I inspected the concrete for the water to cement ratios in the field prior to contractor adding water. Duties also included geotechnical laboratory work and environmental engineering, we worked off of barges under the bridge to make sure that no concrete fell into the water or petroleum products contaminated the water. I inspected the job for the silt fence placement, and maintained of silt fence for erosion protection.
