Project: Transfer customer data to a web server with updates to the current status of orders. Customers should be allowed to login to the web site to check order status and inventory levels for items they have ordered. This system is designed to cut down on phone calls from customers. For orders that are short inventory, generate a PDF report and attach it to an email to notify the customer of the issue.
Responsibilities: Design a system that will run once a day that will connect to a web server database and update all active orders. The system should update new web users logons based on new customers from the current customer table.

Project: Redesign an outplacement web site that allows coaching of employees that have been let go from firms. The software would track the progress of the candidates as they looked for new positions. The system would allow for dynamic web pages to be generated base on the candidates setup. As part of this project, a report generator was built, allowing for easy data extract from the system databases. The site was to translate all screen based on the language of the user logging into the system. This design was based on an open source product called DOTNETNUKE approach to a site portal.
Responsibilities: Redesign and move current software to ASP 3.0 and SQL Server 2005. Design an easy to setup and run report generator based on selected fields from the database. The generator will find all the relationships between data with the database and build the SQL query to run the request. Also data filters would be generated, allowing for selection of date and data ranges. Reports could be exported to Excel or printed.

Project: Business Analyst, Building Proof of Concept for planning traffic needs between P&G’s manufacturing plants and two customers. This prototype system was designed to calculate the weekly trucking demands for manufacturing plants shipping to customers’ warehouses. Once the proof of concept was completed, P&G would contract to build a full worldwide system.
Responsibilities: Work with design team to program a test system using VB.net and Access 2000 based on the proof of concept design. This system would not be used in the final product, but would establish that the design would provide the necessary data to justify the next phase of the project.

Scope of project: SBC Communications is in the process of consolidating all hazardous materials report to one central location. This system must report all hazardous material disposals from its locations within the United States to meet EPA requirements.

Scope of project: John Morrell is the third largest meat processing company in America. With multiple locations and systems. This project was to update the current WIP systems in place and to standardize all locations. This would enable consistent data collection and standard data warehouse reporting on performance and production output for each location.

Responsibilities: Convert VB 6 programs without major changes from Access 2000 to SQL Server 2000.
Scope of project: The current software was written using DAO access. Any changes to this method would require major changes to the existing logic. The upgrade needed to continue to use DAO and still run under SQL 2000. Using linked table in MS Access 2000 allowed the existing access method to be used and to upgrade the database to SQL Server.

Scope of project: Transfer data from legacy order processing system into a SQL Server 2000 database for data management reports. This required the analyst of system requirements and reporting needs for millions of transactions. This required writing some MS DTS procedures to import text files from the legacy system into a new database format for reporting. As part of this project a Crystal Reports reporting front end was written to allow for easy reporting control and setup. This Data Warehouse reporting control restricted user access to reports and to database tables.

Scope of project: Develop quality control testing system to interface to testing equipment and send the testing results to the quality control database at the home office. The home office would controlled of all testing update and synchronize all 16 local databases.
This system was designed to synchronize 16 plant databases with a home office server, sending transactions in both directions. These transactions would send testing data and database updates to insure that all systems were current. If a batch of transactions failed, all updates would be rolled back to before the update. If a system went offline, the transactions would be queued and transmitted when the systems connected.

Scope of project: This project was designed to collect employee time for manufacturing job management. Each employee would be required to enter time based on the job and project they were working on. This time would then be sent to the supervisor for approval. Once approved, the time would be submitted to the accounting department to be posted to an ADP payroll system. The system was designed to allow for multilevel control of system functions, based on a user’s security level, allowing for users to be restricted to only functions assigned to their security levels. A subsystem using Crystal Reports was installed allowing for a user-friendly report processing system.

Scope of project: CAE Ransohof is a manufacturer of industrial cleaning equipment. This project was to design and program a parts ordering system to interface into a purchasing system to order parts from suppliers based on customer machine designs. Each engineer would select the parts from lists of stock and non-stock parts and submit the list to purchasing. Purchasing would then select which parts to order from their vendor list and submit a purchase order. All changes made by engineering would be transferred to purchasing to update current purchase orders. Purchase orders received would be entered and existing purchase orders would be updated and the transactions sent to engineering to update the engineering drawings. This system was designed to allow for changes to be made as a machine was designed and to update the purchasing system with the current status of each job.
