OPERATING SYSTEM: MVS/ESA 4.3
LANGUAGE: COBOL II
TOOLS: CA-EALIA, XPEDITER
SOFTWARE: TSO/E, ISPF/PDF, CICS, DB2, IDMS, FILEAID
DESCRIPTION
The project involved carrying out requirement analysis for making the systems in this company year 2000 compliant. The project was divided into 3 parts - Data Sampling, Trade/Settlement date table, and Date routines. The Date Routines module involved testing the copybooks used by the systems for year 2000 compliance and changing the non-compliant ones. The testing was done for input dates ranging from January 1997 to March 2001 and generating the reports which would indicate the dates, which were not, processed correctly, which were then studied carefully to find out the reasons of failure. This was done by coding driver routines for each copybook, which Performed/called the date routines for the date range specified above, and generates the associated reports. This was followed by doing the actual conversions for the non year 2000 compliant copybooks to make the date routines in them year 2000 compliant and the changed versions of the copybooks were re-tested and verified that they are really year 2000 compliant after the changes have been made.
