Human Resource Manager / Human Resource Generalist - Clarksville, TN 2010-2012

Transferred / recruited to this green manufacturer of polycrystalline silicon for the emerging solar energy market as the 2nd Human Resource employee. Recruited, hired and on-boarded over 300 new employees at this $1.2 billion site over an 18 month period. As HR Manager, led performance management, talent acquisition, and manager training. Served as site expert in employment and labor law issues. Member of Site Staff and Site Strategic Development Leadership Team.

• Led manager training for Performance Management, Talent Acquisition, Employment and Labor Law, Compensation, Positive Employee Relations and Co-employment/Union Avoidance.

• Acting HRBP for the Project, Start-up, and Environmental and Safety Teams on site.

• Created new co-employment audit tool, led site union risk audit, helped establish policies and procedures. Led the Affirmative Action Program, dealt with disciplinary issues.

Human Resource / Labor Relations Manager - Dow Corning, Elizabethtown, KY 2001-2010

Directed all additional aspects of the Human Resources function, including all contract negotiations. Influenced and brought together necessary stakeholders to achieve goals to advance the success of Dow Corning. Member of the Site Staff and Leadership Team. Partnered with site safety to develop and administer new safety initiative.

• Led the site in Talent Management, Succession Planning, Training and Development, Affirmative Action, Employment and Labor Law, Manager Development, Talent Acquisition and Compensation. Also led Investigations and Discipline, HR Policy and Site Rules and Regulations.

• Led negotiations and administered successfully three collective bargaining agreements. Bargained wages to amounts more competitive, fewer paid sick days due to abuse, more competitive skilled trades, and decreased grievances and arbitrations significantly. Site operated 365 days per year, 24 hours per day.

Logistics Coordinator / Production Operator 1990-2001

Skilled in on-site scheduling and inventory systems. Scheduled processes and operators on all shifts. Set and monitored correct inventory levels. Leadership Elizabethtown: Alumnus of the 2008 class of Leadership Elizabethtown. This was a several month commitment to learn the key current and historical aspects of the Elizabethtown, Kentucky community. It also included a service project which our class conducted.

United Way of Central Kentucky: Participated in the United Way fundraising events for Dow Corning for 10 consecutive years, leading 3 of them and also was on the United Way committee after transferring to HSC in Clarksville, TN.

Elizabethtown Industrial Foundation Training Consortium: Participated in the consortium for 9 years and was chairperson for 2 of them. This consortium works with local industry to help educate the skilled trades around Elizabethtown.

Clarksville Industrial Foundation: Participated in the Clarksville Industrial Foundation while in Clarksville for 1.5 years.

Hosparus Hospice of Central Kentucky: Volunteered and served on the Board for 3 years from 2006-2009. Helped lead this organization through Strategic Planning as a member of Communities United for Excellence (C.U.E.) in 1994.
