My professional focus has been in corporate management and/or consulting of operations, programs and facilities including environmental, hazardous waste, emergency response, military bases, biotechnology laboratories, industrial health and safety, and complex industrial operations. Over 23 years of experience including 15 years as a Certified Industrial Hygienist, over 17 years as Executive Director of an international EH&S consulting firm and over 14 years of formal communications training has developed capabilities to successfully direct, organize, develop, manage and communicate within complex and challenging environments and organizational structures. These capabilities have been developed and honed within the military, industrial, research, corporate and public sectors.
This experience base provides diverse and flexible capabilities that will greatly enhance any organization’s ability to manage programs or operate facilities efficiently, organized, healthy and safe with a sharp focus on financial goals and budgets.

ACHIEVEMENTS INCLUDE
Provided technical expertise and functional guidance to Team Leaders, Health & Safety Coordinators, Environmental Coordinators, Operations, Project Managers, and Business Unit (BU) management with environmental, health and safety efforts for multiple clients. Assisted with offshore industrial hygiene and clean-up efforts after the BP oil spill from the Deepwater Horizon MODU explosion. Executive Director of Phoenix Health and Safety, Inc., a successful EH&S consulting corporation providing services for the US Pacific Northwest and international clients. Director of Environmental, Radiation, Safety and Health (ES&H), Hazardous Materials/Waste Transport, Storage and Disposal (TSD) operations and compliance as the Base Operation Service (BOS) contractor for the Defense Threat Reduction Agency of the Department of Defense (held advanced security clearance). Compliance includes NEPA, OSHA, EPA, Air Force, Army, NFPA, and DoD regulations. Activities included environmental analyses, workplace exposure evaluations for radiation (plutonium, americium, etc.), chemicals, hazardous waste/materials (dioxins, PCBs, etc.), management, storage, disposal and shipping, base radiation safety officer, emergency operations, IAQ, accident investigation and reporting and disaster readiness, incident readiness drilling and response management.
Responsibilities as a CIH and Manager of EH&S for the Seattle Fire Department included emergency response to and rapid hazards evaluations of ship fires, confined spaces and hazardous material fires. Responsibilities as manager of EH&S for other Seattle departments included landfill and haz waste site industrial hygiene and health and safety, municipal waste facilities health and safety, fleet safety, building health and safety, indoor air quality, accident prevention programs, construction safety, and more. Industrial hygienist and safety officer for the international corporation - URS Greiner, Woodward, Clyde, Inc. working almost exclusively on the U.S. Navy CLEAN program (base environmental, haz waste analysis and remediation).
In addition to advanced management capabilities are hazard evaluations and risk assessments, environmental sampling and analysis, personal exposure monitoring, environmental monitoring, providing HAZMAT training, quality assurance, and regulatory compliance and reviews, and expert witness.
