I would assist the physicians in patient care. I would help receive emergency patients from both EMS and walk-ins. I was responsible for starting the IV's, drawing blood, putting in Foley catheters in both males and females, doing gastric lavage, putting in NG tubes, casting, splinting, crutch training, assisting the physicians with intubations, setting up ventilators, assisting with central lines, assisting with chest tubes, conscience sedation and pelvic exams. I assisted in suturing and did wound care on multiple versions of wounds ranging from severe burns to lacerations. I carried a patient load of 4-5 patients at a time and was responsible for those patients.
