Data Production Manager – multiple client account teams (2007-present)

• Managed data production update cycle for dual accounts in SQL2005 environment, collaborating with solution developers as necessary for improving process and troubleshooting.

• Created and managed production documentation for benchmarking, tracking, and maintenance requests including operating procedures, data dictionary, data transformation layout and mapping documents, and various logs. Developed methods for the streamlining and standardization of production processes.

• Assisted project managers in meeting business analysis objectives including functional specification and change impact.

• Responsible for the archival, distribution, and integrity of all MODIS data sets held within the Land & Atmosphere Archive and Distribution System (LAADS) with a volume of over a half petabyte.

• Assisted management with defining business rules and customer support objectives. Created support documentation for business analysis requirements. Developed procedures for implementation of processes to achieve these goals using resources from development group and production team.

• Using database tools performed system monitoring and problem solving for support of on demand user requests of MODIS data as well as the archival and data export subsystems.

• Assisted development and system administration groups with efforts to improve and maintain the LAADS & MODAPS systems while interacting directly with users world-wide to solve data acquisition problems.

• Performed disk resource management and planning for up to 5 production and archival systems with a volume over several hundred terabytes assisting in the performance of database administration tasks.

• Maintained web content for the User Service Website.

Test Operations Analyst (2004 – 2005). Responsible for the acquisition, production, distribution, and archival of all MODIS test data sets. Worked closely with Project Manager to develop test plans and scheduling, allowing rapidly successive critical goals to be met before deadline on a consistent basis.

Operations Analyst (Feb 2004 – Dec 2004). Provided support for the production group through resource planning and production/archival of special science datasets. Worked directly with Production Manager as lead in performing special production requests and documentation development.

Data Production Analyst (Feb 2001-2004). Responsible for production of MODIS data via MODAPS data system while resolving anomalies.

• As Shift Supervisor, performed the orchestration of the combined efforts of real-time commanding of the Terra AM-1 EMOS Spacecraft between the engineering online/offline teams and the commanding element. Monitored real-time telemetry for anomalous occurrence and coordinated immediate effort for resolution.

• Supervised team of 10 soldiers while holding the position of Senior Satellite Network Controller for three geosynchronous satellites ensuring satellite health and status was maintained, directing troubleshooting efforts during anomalies to assure minimum downtime in communications in the Atlantic and Pacific theaters.

• Squad Leader: First-line supervisor concerned with the professional and personal welfare of up to six subordinate soldiers.

• Held additional duty positions including Platoon Training NCO and Parts Load Clerk. While holding these positions soldier developed MS Access Databases for use in each role to improve productivity.
