Worked for three different clients – Norwest (Banking Industry), Colorado Commission on Higher Education (Education Industry) and MCI (Telecommunication Industry)

At Norwest, I provided support to Norwest’s Wire Transfer Department which was converting their applications to CICS online environment. Through formal inquiry sessions with staffs, documented the functionalities, interfaces, workflows and descriptions of the various components of the Wire Transfer System. Read the manuals and learned how to use the various applications both in the old and new versions. Developed and exercised test scripts for those converted applications. Reported any problems encountered in using the CICS version. Wrote COBOL and REXX programs to assist in automating the processes.

At Colorado Commission on Higher Education, I provided Y2K conversion to a system containing approximately thirty Cobol programs and a number of master and data files. The conversion was completed by expanding the date fields to include the century. This project also included converting COBOL TO COBOL II programs, and used Easytrieve to modify the files. Also made appropriate changes to JCL’s.

At MCI, I reviewed program and functional requirements to develop Cobol program source codes, reports, and extracts. Developed, executed and verified test plans and results. Also provided supporting program and system documentations.

Hand Held Products, Inc., Charlotte, NC

Computer Programmer Duration: 18 months

Modified PC-based application development environment for custom programming of the barcode scanners (MicroWand & LaserWand) in C Language other than in-house developed compiler – Universal Data Language (UDL). Provided programming support to customer service department. Wrote and conducted a diagnostic program to test the performance of LaserWand in terms of its successful scan and misreads.
