Well I was on a shipyard name Atlantic Marine located in Mobile, Alabama I was working
Nights and well in the fabrication shop. I was welding together parts of a naval ship. I
Had to use ceramic tape for back-up on places we could not weld. I only lasted a short
Time because I was guarantee 60 hrs a wk and I was only putting 48 hrs so I left.

I worked there for this company in there offshore division. I started on a Shell Platform
Name MC194.We repair that rig from Hurricane Katrina It lasted for about two year.
The following year I was sent to a Shell Pipeline Rig there I had to take my Structural
Fitter test after that I got a dollar raise but now I had to fit and weld. Then the
Following year I was made an F1 which means Foreman so it went pretty good I say
Good cause of the years I was there I was the one helping the superintendent to get
The work permits, write JSA, did the walk thru with sponsors, timesheets. Pretty much
I had things under control but don’t get me wrong it’s different offshore than land.

That company was where it all started for me that where I learn how to weld. I started
In repairing Drilling Rigs they would assign me with a fitter and well I was his tacker
Then I would weld everything. There I learn how to gouge, use flux core, stick rod.
Since I was getting good at what I was doing I was sent to the fabrication shop. There
It was cleaner but I always had someone breathing down my neck so I got transfer
Back where I started. After working there for two years they told me they were going
To cut back on the hours so I told them I would leave so I left.
