I have 30 years plus experience welding, fitting and rigging. I am currently certified asme sec. 9 to b313 tig root and stick, AWS d11.1 structural. I have been certified for almost every type of welding and code or procedure in the past. I am confident I can pass any weld test you require. I know cranes and I am an experienced heavy rigger and piledriver. I hold 3 United States Patents for welding helmets.

WORK HISTORY

I started working as a welder helper on offshore oil rigs in the gulf of Mexico (Morgan City La.) after graduating high school. I learned to weld and fit pipe on the job by watching and working with the best pipe welders and fitters. I practiced every chance I had (lunch after work etc.) I was a certified Texaco pipe welder in 1978 . In 1979 I was hired by McDermott Heavy lift to install offshore platform Henry in Santa Barbara Channel Ca.. I then started working for several different companies doing maintenance on the platforms in the Channel. Mostly Installing flow lines and piping. 1982 I then went to work on nuclear and coal fired power plants as a pipe welder.(Cooper Nuclear Station, Diablo Canyon, Comanche Peak and a oil shale project in Parachute Colorado). I then began working as a piledriver welder building piers, Imperial Beach pier, Santa Monica pier, Avila Beach Oil Pier and others. I worked on installing offshore oil platforms Ellen, Ellie, Ester, Eureka, The Santa Ynez offshore Refinery and Several Pipe pulls to those facilities and refineries . I learned pile driving and heavy rigging and became piledriving foreman and welding foreman on many jobs. I have worked for Kiewit pacific, Riddell international, Union oil,Healy Tibbits, Santa Fe Braun, Ferguson General, Morrison Knudson, Ugaland Heavy lift and many others for 20 plus Years. I have worked as a pipe welder fitter on navy ships for Nasco, South Bay Boiler, Tecnico in San Diego and Todd shipyard in San Pedro. Any one of the above companies will give me good reference.

Over the years I have seen too many accidents including 3 deaths. They are burned into my mind forever. I know every accident was preventable and therefore I will not compromise safety for any reason. I am certified HAZMAT Oil spill and safety instructor working for Healy Tibbitts construction in Alaska on the Exxon Valdez oil spill.

I twice received the productivity and quality award for inventions that increased production and cut cost for the west coast division of Kiewit Pacific (Santa Monica pier and 8 & 805 earthquake retrofits). A young hard working but inexperienced welder working for me needed to improve the appearance of his welds. Along with instruction we jokingly called him gorilla welder to give him incentive to improve. I am a sculptor, mold maker and metal caster as a hobby. I made a welding helmet with a gorilla face as a joke. Everyone seemed to want to buy it. I made a skull and other faces. Hoodlum helmets was born. I patented, licensed them and they are currently sold worldwide. That has been my job for the last 6 years. I am an inventive problem solver who enjoys a challenge.

.I am certain I will be an asset to your company. Thank you for your time considering me for employment.
